The Firefly Project

Local artist Caitlin Campbell is hosting an interactive art event on Wednesday, June 20th. Participants will meet at 9:00pm at the Jessie Smith Wildlife Preserve on Majors Road in Kent. There they will catch fireflies, which will then be taken back to Gaming Grounds where the jars will be set up on the brick retaining between Gaming Grounds and Circle K. If there are  enough people catching enough bugs, the light should hopefully be able to be seen from S.R. 43! At the end of the night, the fireflies will be let go.

This project is part performance art part community building exercise. The idea behind it is to make a subtle show of what kind of beautiful things can happen when we work together! For more information, check out the facebook event page, where you can also R.S.V.P.
