Upcoming Kent State Men’s and Women’s Choruses Promises To Be Inspiring

The Kent State University Men’s and Women’s Choruses will perform Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall. Cartwright Hall is located at 650 Hilltop Drive, with free parking located off of Terrace Drive.


Each group will perform its own collection of chorus literature, as well as a collaborative piece to close the show. Douglas Beery conducts the Men’s Chorus, and Dawn Wagner-Casey conducts the Women’s Chorus.


The Men’s Chorus performance will include “Freedom Come” by Ben Allway, “In Taberna” from “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, “When I Hear Music” by Michael Martin and “Fight on for KSU!” by Dawn Wagner-Casey and Chad Kendall. The Women’s Chorus will perform works including “Hotaru Koi” by Ro Ogura, “Surrexit pastor bonus” by Felix Mendelssohn and a traditional Kenyan piece called “Wana Baraka.” For more information, visit http://www.kent.edu/news/newsdetail.cfm?newsitem=D6D3AEB0-9FCA-ED8E-0B94393EA59C99EC.
