Kent Girls' Soccer Beats Norton; Now Only Undefeated Team in PTC

After coaching Norton's high school girls' soccer program for two years, Leslie Neice took the head coaching position in this spring.

"I'm looking forward to it," Neice said before Tuesday's match with her former team and PTC rival. "As long as we come out and play like we can, I know we'll be fine."

At the end of the game, the scoreboard said the same - but the game was close and tense. After two goals from senior forward/midfielder Erin Waples in the first half, the score was tied. The second half was largely a defensive game, but junior defender Libby Bradford changed things with a shot that found the back of Norton's net with 15 minutes left in the second half. 

It put a very positive spin on the season.

"We were the only two undefeated teams in the PTC," going into Tuesday's game, Neice said. With just two more conference contests, against Conventry and Field, the Norton game was a must-win for the Rough Riders.
