Kent Police Find Missing Lyndhurst Woman
89-year-old suffering from dementia disappeared Monday afternoon

A Lyndhurst woman is home safe and sound today thanks to the .
Lyndhurst Police Lt. Jeffery Porter said the department issued a missing persons alert Monday evening for Betty Dohnal, 89, after she left home Monday afternoon for a doctor's appointment but did not return.
Dohnal's son told Lyndhurst police she suffers from the early stages of dementia.

Kent Police Lt. Paul Canfield said Donhal's doctor's appointment was at 4 p.m. Monday. She turned up in Kent at about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Canfield said an officer spotted Dohnal driving on North Water Street near Crain Avenue and did a random plate check and found the owner of the car was reported as missing.

"So he did a well-being check and found out the driver was in fact the owner," Canfield said. "She said she took a wrong turn when she left the hospital and got lost."
The officer told Dohnal to park her car, and she was taken to the police station and checked out by paramedics at the . Her son was contacted to pick her up.
“We’re pretty fortunate that Kent located her and that she’s home safe,” Porter said.
