Kent State University Commencement Ceremonies to be Held Dec. 16-17
The university will deliver 2,544 degrees to graduating students.

KENT, OH - Kent State University will host its commencement ceremonies on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17. The ceremony will be held at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). The university will deliver 2,544 degrees, including 1,773 bachelor’s degrees, 715 master’s degrees, 55 doctoral degrees and one educational specialist degrees, over the course of the two days.
The Dec. 16 ceremony starts at 6 p.m. and will focus on graduates receiving their master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees. The key speaker for the evening will be Andrew J. Sonderman, ‘73, J.D., President of Suburban Natural Gas Company
The Dec. 17 ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. and will focus on graduates receiving baccalaureate degrees from the College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology; College of Business Administration; College of Communication and Information; College of Education, Health and Human Services; and the School of Digital Sciences. The keynote speaker will be Andrew R. Baskin,’90, sports director of the NewsChannel5 Sports Team.

There will be another ceremony on Dec. 17 that will start at 1:30 p.m. and will focus on graduates receiving baccalaureate degrees from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design; College of the Arts; College of Arts and Sciences; College of Nursing; and the College of Public Health. The keynote speaker will be Douglas L. Steidl, FAIA, former dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University from 2010 until 2016.
