Police Blotter: Electronics Are Favored by Thieves

The following information was provided by the Kent Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Thieves continue to favor electronic devices for theft throughout the city, according to reports.

  • Residents of a boarding house in the 300 block of South Willow Street reported a March 30 burglary that resulted in the theft of an Apple Ipad, a Louis Vuitton purse and damage to a wood door. The combined loss and damage totals nearly $1,800.
  • A resident of the 100 block of West Williams Street reported a burglary March 30. Stolen were an X-Box console, three X-Box games and a Kinect wireless controller with a combined value of $700.
  • A 42-inch Samsung flatscreen TV valued at $600 was stolen in a burglary reported March 31 by a resident of the 500 block of South Lincoln Street.
  • A Westinghouse 32-inch high-definition TV and an X-Box 360 with a combined value of $450 were reported stolen April 5 from a home in the 100 block of West Summit Street.

Shoplifting/damage

  • A 19-year-old Ravenna man was arrested at 12:38 a.m. April 2 and charged with prohibition, criminal damaging and petty theft, all misdemeanors, after stealing a 24-ounce can of Four Loko and breaking two glass doors at . Damage was estimated at $400.
