Son Charged with Stabbing Father
Akron man faces felonious assault charge after Kent stabbing

An Akron man has been charged with stabbing his father in Kent on Memorial Day.
Kent police arrested and charged Jasper C. Trotter, 28, of Akron, Monday evening after being called for a stabbing.
Kent firefighters took Trotter's father, Lester Trotter, to Robinson Memorial Hospital, where he is no longer listed as a patient. His condition is unknown.

The stabbing happened at 229 Maple St. at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Kent Police Lt. Paul Canfield said Jasper Trotter has been charged with one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He said little is known at this time about the circumstances of the stabbing and police are investigating.

Jasper Trotter was arraigned in Kent Municipal Court Tuesday and sentenced to jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Friday before Portage County Municipal Court Judge Kevin Poland.
