3 Horace Mann Elementary Students Score High on National Math Test
The students received medals and certificates from the Noetic Learning Math Contest.

LAKEWOOD, OH - Math is a difficult subject for most people. Numbers don't always add up the way you want them to, you forget to carry that one and then what are the parentheses for? Do you multiply there? It's enough to boggle the mind.
Those that understand math are diviners of a secret language that confuses us mere mortals. Three Horace Mann Elementary students proved themselves adept at parsing out the numerical language during the national Noetic Learning Math Contest. These students were some of the top performers, scoring well versus 4,721 students nationwide competing at the same grade level.
The Noetic Learning Math Contest is conducted in 46 states and is designed for students in grades 2 through 8. The aim of the test is to stimulate a student's interest in math, develop their problem solving skill, and inspire their future excellence in math. According to the organization, more than 20,000 students, from 473 schools took part in the Fall contest.
