3 New Safety Practices At Lakewood Schools
During an April 12 student safety seminar, the district revealed a trio of new tactics to create more secure schools.

LAKEWOOD, OH — During a school safety seminar on April 12, the Lakewood City Schools revealed three ways the district is trying to improve security. With Lakewood High students protesting for stricter gun laws and a nationwide debate about how to keep kids safe, the seminar highlighted the community's own interest in this topic.
Among the three new tactics for improving school security, the district announced that it is working with the Lakewood Police Department to share livestream feeds from security cameras directly to police personnel. This would give officers a direct and immediate insight into what is happening inside school buildings at all times.
Second, the city wants to prove additional School Resource Officers to the Lakewood City Schools. The city specifically wants to add another SRO at the Lakewood middle schools.
