Bar Brawl At Lakewood Tavern, Bartender Hurt

Between 15 and 30 people got into an apparent scrap at the Lakewood Village Tavern and someone threw a bar stool at a bartender.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Police were called to the Lakewood Village Tavern for a large bar brawl early on Tuesday morning, according to police records obtained by Patch. No one suffered serious injuries during the scrap, but a bartender did have a "minor facial injury," according to Lakewood Police Captain Ed Hassing.

Officers were called to the bar on Madison Avenue at about 1:40 a.m. There were reports that approximately 15 people were involved in a fight. The brawl was apparently happening both inside and immediately outside the Village Tavern, according to Lakewood Police call logs.

When police arrived, people were starting to leave the bar. It's not clear why the fight broke out, Hassing told Patch. According to an initial incident report, there may have actually been about 30 people engaged in the fight.
