Apartment Fire Sends 8 To Hospital In Lakewood
A 6-month-old baby was among those hurt in the fire. Luckily, no one suffered life threatening injuries.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Smoke billowed out of the windows when an apartment complex on Arliss Drive caught fire early on Monday morning. Eight people, including a 6-month-old baby, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to reports.
The fire broke out a little before 3 a.m., according to Fox 8. When crews arrived, flames were exploding out of the first floor windows. Four people had to be rescued through windows, four more were pulled from the apartment building stairwells.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown but the blaze did start in the complex's basement, according to Channel 19. Neighboring fire departments were called in to help extinguish the blaze, including Westlake and Rocky River fire departments.

The fire was contained to the first floor, but did do smoke damage to several apartment. Nine people will need to find temporary shelter while the apartment is repaired.
