Applicants Needed For Lakewood Youth Council
The city's inaugural Lakewood Youth Council needs members and the application period has opened.
LAKEWOOD, OH — The Lakewood Youth Council is looking for politically-minded students to join its ranks. The council is open to residents between the ages of 13 and 19.
The Lakewood Student Youth Council was established this year and is a vehicle for youth activism in Lakewood. The group will give members access to community leaders and connect members to opportunities for development and outreach.
Applications for the council are now being accepted online. A PDF version of the application is also available for interested students. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 1.

One of the goals for the new group is to create partnerships between local enterprises and Lakewood Youth Council and to work with non-profit organizations to better serve Lakewood youth.
The Lakewood Youth Council will spend about four hours meeting each month. It has not yet been decided what day of the week meetings will be held, but attendance at the meetings will be crucial for council members.
