Lakewood Killing: Suspect Arrested After 10-Month Investigation

Police have identified and arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of Maurice Goins.

LAKEWOOD, OH — In August 2017, Maurice Goins was found dead in his Madison Avenue apartment. He had been stabbed multiple times in the head and neck. After a 10-month investigation, Lakewood Police have arrested a suspect in Goins' death.

Charles Muscatello, a 39-year-old homeless Cleveland man, was taken into custody on Tuesday. He is being charged with Goins' murder, a Lakewood Police spokesperson said.

Muscatello and Goins were acquaintances, a Lakewood Police spokesperson told Patch in an email. It was not initially clear what linked Muscatello to Goins' death.
