Back-to-School Ice Cream Social Comes To Lakewood September 8
The annual event will be held in the Garfield Middle School gym. And the ice cream is free.

LAKEWOOD, OH — There's no better way to say goodbye to summer then to chow down on the season's best treat: ice cream. Lakewood's annual back-to-school event offers parents and PTA members the opportunity to do just that; say goodbye to the season, hello to school, and eat a frozen treat while doing it.
The annual back-to-school Ice Cream Social will be held in the Garfield Middle School Gym this year, the district said. The event will run from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Members of the district's two middle school bands will perform to kick-off the event. Then Board of Education members will start scooping the ice cream (which is, of course, free). Attendees are encouraged to bring the "fixin's" for the treat.

The event is sponsored by both the Lakewood Council of PTAs and Board of Education. Besides commemorating the end of summer, the event also allows residents to meet their elected officials. The district promises the event is family-friendly.
