Back-To-School Tax Holiday Aug. 3-5 In Ohio

Need to get supplies for your student before they head back to the Lakewood Schools? Aug. 3-5 is the weekend to do it.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Ohio's back-to-school tax holiday will be August 3-5. During that weekend, clothing, school supplies and certain instructional items will all be exempt from sales tax.

The sales tax holiday starts at midnight on August 3 and continues until 11:59 p.m. on August 5, so late night shoppers will have plenty of time to get everything on their back-to-school lists.

The following items are specifically exempt from the sales tax: clothing priced at $75 per item or less; school supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and school instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less. The tax exemption will apply across the state.
