On my visit to Mosaic Community Lakewood, I learned that its structure is untraditional in that it's creating small "villages" within the city of Lakewood and surrounding areas which network in a common vision and purpose. They meet weekly in homes very much like the early home churches in Paul's time which affords them flexibility, simplicity and economy--a modern "movable feast."
After sharing a meal, Kevin Phipps, former Assoc. Pastor of Avon Assembly of God, accompanied us on his guitar for an opening song and words were posted onto a laptop screen. The "village" gathers on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to approximately 8:45 p.m. Pastor Kevin spoke of keeping our connection with God, to abide in Him in all the seasons of our lives through scripture, prayer and commitment.
This is a very welcoming "tribe." You will feel comfortable in their hospitality.
They are planning a Prayer Walk; and this Saturday, June 29, they're having a garage sale from 9:00 a.m. to l:00 p.m. at 1627 Parkwood Avenue, north of Madison Ave. For an in-depth look at Parkwood Village, look to: lakewoodmosaic.com/
