Bites Nearby: Two Dads' Diner

A foodie haven in the guise of a diner.

is located on Detroit Ave at Marlowe — just east of Lakewood Presbyterian Church.

The dining room is quite large with a handful of booths, free-standing tables and a long counter that extends the length of the dining room all the way back to the semi-open kitchen. The waiters are engaging and friendly, as well as well-versed on the menu, which is surprisingly more interesting than what most diners have to offer.

While the atmosphere is definitely diner, the menu has other aspirations — it has some diner standards — burgers, soups, sandwiches, breakfast till 2 on Saturdays and Sundays, but it is also chock-full of innovative food creations with names that make it an amusing read: the Trash Can, the Dirty Sanchez and the Rib Sticker to name a few...

I first had Two Dads' Crispadillas at the : they are Asian-spiced chicken between flour tortillas drizzled with apricot ginger sauce and an Asian barbecue sauce – and upon tasting these delicious appetizers — twice — I needed to know more about Two Dads’ Diner.

The burgers are hand-made across the street at  and are served with crisp, fresh lettuce, onions and ripe tomato slices, and can be embellished with any number of accompaniments... 2 Dads’ Warm Turkey Club with oven-roasted turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, Colby-jack and mozzarella on a pretzel bun is tasty and huge — the second half re-heated very nicely the next day... Behind the counter there is a cooler full of desserts by KB Confections- we sampled a deadly chocolate cake and a creamy cheesecake topped with cherries.
