Book Box To Debut At Edgewater LIVE

This new amenity offers books, DVDs, CDs, audio books and more to guests at the beach.

CLEVELAND, OH -- A new amenity at Edgewater Beach will make its debut this week. The Book Box, which offers more than just literature despite its name, will be available to beach guests for the first time on Thursday, July 19.

The Book Box actually offers books (obviously), DVDs, CDs, audio books and more for guests. The new amenity will be open Thursdays, during Edgewater LIVE, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Book Box will also be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Book Box is a mini-library, housed in a decommissioned shipping container. The new amenity will be located at the north of the Edgewater Beach House, on an ADA-accessible boardwalk. The Book Box will be staffed by Cleveland Public Library employees.

The Book Box is the result of a partnership between the Cleveland Metroparks and the Cleveland Public Library. After the Edgewater LIVE performances end, the Book Box will remain open, Thursdays through Saturdays, through Labor Day weekend. Post-concerts though, the hours of the Book Box will shrink to 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This is actually the second Book Box created by the Cleveland Public Library. The Book Boxes are made possible through a grant from the State Library of Ohio.
