The Bookshop in Lakewood reopening April 28th in new location
The locals' favorite bookshop is opening again just in time for Independent Bookstore Day at 15014 Madison on Apr 28th at noon until 8pm.

Locals' favorite bookstore The Bookshop in Lakewood is opening again just in time for Independent Bookstore Day at their new location on April 28th at noon until 8pm. No regular hours have been announced yet. The new location, at 15014 Madison Ave., is nearby Malley's Chocolates.
Since temporarily closing in late January for the move, Colin Brown has had the monumental task of moving what is literally tons of books nearly by himself - thankfully only five blocks down the street from the old location.
When looking for the new location, he looked around Lakewood but settled in the same neighborhood he began his journey in 2014. "We looked a different locations around town, but Madison has such a great collection of small businesses and eclectic shops. Not to mention all the friends we've made in the neighborhood," said Brown.

The new location has one addition that opens up a lot of possibilities for Bookshop - a bathroom. Colin is excited about the prospects of hosting more events and the possibility of people staying as long as they please.
The bathroom means a slightly smaller square footage for the rest of the shop, but size-wise, the collection at The Bookshop in Lakewood remains similar to the old location by adding more shelves. They have kids books, history, local interest, philosophy, cooking, art. There's a little bit of everything! The Bookshop also features books by local authors and has a case dedicated to them. And as always, Colin, who really knows his collection, is there to help narrow down your options and maybe introduce you to something new.

The lot behind the building is not for customers, but there is plenty of street parking and a public lot a quarter mile away.
Hobbes, the lovable bookshop cat, enjoyed his vacation (I mean, hard at work assisting the move!) but is looking forward to being the center of attention again and helping you decide on the purrfect book.
