A 'Pawsitvely' Great Lakewood Saturday for All

Fun Lakewood events going on for our 2 and 4 legged kids on Saturday, June 2nd.

Were you wondering what to do with your family members that are under 3 feet tall this weekend?

I've got your answers whether you're talking about your 2 legged or 4 legged kids, Lakewood. Lakewood will host to large annual events this weekend. The Furry Nation pet store will host its 3rd annual Spring Fling Adoption Day event for a slew of rescues. Lakewood Park will host its 7th Meet the Trucks. Each gives you options for a great time for everyone.

This years Meet the Trucks will be full of excitement. Of course, there will be the trucks, ranging from police and fire vehicles to waste management trucks and a bus. St. Ed's Trash Talkers will open up the occasion at 10 am. Entertainment and information exhibits will also fill a portion of the park. Inflatable twister and a castle will keep the day bouncing along to tunes offered by a DJ. Crafts for the kids and raffles for the adults will keep you busy as you wait for Jungle Bob's shows at 11 am and 12:30 pm. You'll be able to get pop corn and bagels for free if you get there in time and you can buy hamburgers, fries, pizza, and hot dogs to eat. Drinks and snow cones will be available to purchase for to help cool down after taking in the many exhibits. All this fun won't cost you a penny but you are asked to donate a canned good to Lakewood's food bank, Lakewood Community Services. The event ends at 2 pm. If you are planning on taking the kids with your furry family members up to the dog event of the day you should stop by the dog safety table hosted by Lakewood's Pawsitive Influence and All Dog's Heaven special needs dog rescue.

Furry Nation has continued to expand it's dog rescue and vendor event for its third year running. There will be a huge raffle with 40 baskets benefiting 8 different rescues from around the Cleveland area. A number of vendors will also be taking part and offering a chance to learn about training and grooming, agility and nutrition. If you don't currently have a dog you will be given the chance to find a new four legged friend to become a part of your home. The event will run from 10 am till 5 pm. If you time things right then you'll be able to see me at both events as well.

The weather should be great and it'll only cost you can of beans for all this fun. I hope I get to see you this weekend and that you and your family have a great time!
