Cleveland Indians Snow Days Back Again
What if – a baseball stadium was converted into a winter park featuring tubing, ice skating, and hockey?
For the second year in a row, Progressive Field will be host to “Snow Days” featuring winter activities and for the first time, Progressive Field will also showcase exciting, youth, high school and collegiate hockey.
“Snopening Day” isn’t until November 25th, but Indians Snow Days provided a preview to what will be offered. Mark Shapiro spoke briefly to announce some of the highlights of this year’s Snow Days season including the addition of hockey to the Snow Days lineup.
The Batterhorn is impressive and was the first thing I noticed, it’s an 8-lane, 200 foot snow tubing hill. This hill is fast – speeds of up to 30mph can be reached. Also new this year - unlimited tubing with no time restrictions! Kids height requirement: 36 inches or taller.

The Let's Move It! Frozen Mile is an ice skating track around the outfield with great winter and holiday themed scenery. Just off of the Frozen Mile near center field is The Rookie Rink – a small rink for beginning skaters.
Several “warming areas” are located throughout Progressive Field and the Terrace Club is open, allowing visitors to warm up, get something to eat, and watch the activities on the field below. There is also an indoor “Kidsland” which features arts & crafts, holiday music, games, PS3s, visits from Slider and more.
