Now that it's fall, I can't help but think about the holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas and Hanukah. Whatever you celebrate, fall is the beginning of the gift giving season.
I have to be honest, I'm not the best at buying presents. Try as I might to pick up on hints of what people want, I always find myself going from store to store empty handed because I'm so caught up in trying to find something unique. And in today's society of big box stores, it can be hard to find that unique gift.
Luckily I discovered on Detroit Avenue, my one stop store for those unique home gifts during any time of year.

The thing I love about Eclectic Home is how true it is to it's name. The store is so eclectic, and you find you have to walk through the store a few times to feel like you've seen everything: lamps, candles, jewelry, accessories for the dining room, interesting and unique wine racks, decorations for your home, and oh the list can go on and on.
And the prices are so affordable.

For example, my friend recently turned 30. Instead of a having a party, we all went out to the wineries to sample some wine. I just wanted to get her something little, so, in the pouring rain, I went over to Eclectic Home to see what I could find. I came out with two small gifts for ten dollars.
Oh but the greatest thing about this particular trip was they wrapped it for me! I hate wrapping. I don't know what to do with tissue paper, or how to fold the corners of wrapping paper, and don't even get me started on ribbons. Needless to say, I was very pleased that when asked if my purchase was a gift, they took off the price tags, wrapped everything in tissue paper, put it in a bag, placed some blue tissue paper on top, and finally tied the handles with a bow.
Sure it was a little thing, but really, aren't those things you remember when you walk out of a store? I mean when's the last time you bought a gift at Target and they wrapped it for you?
So, when you find yourself trying to figure out what to buy someone this holiday season, whether it's big or small, give Eclectic Home a visit. And don't be surprised if you walk out with something for yourself too.
