First-Time Delegate in Charlotte at the Democratic National Convention

It was an honor to be elected as a delegate for the 10th Congressional District to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.

As a first-time delegate, the week was a whirlwind of speeches and activities while every night, delegates and guests packed to capacity, the Time Warner Convention Center.

I've heard from some people who spotted me on camera during the President's acceptance speech and someone was kind enough to send the image. It was certainly an electric and inspiring week.

The speakers included First Lady Michelle Obama (she wrote her own speech), Joe Biden, John Keary, Sandra Fluke, Debbie Wassermen Schultz,  Bill Clinton and of course President Obama.

One thing that struck many of us was the visible diversity of the the group of delegates. We created a living mosaic of America.

Returning home all I can say is that I am so proud of all of us in the U.S.!
