Lakewood Middle Schools remembering 2 of their own.
LMS staff supporting 2 of their staff members that recently passed away from cancer.

As people form teams for the ACS Relay, I usually ask what kind of team are they forming. I was moved to find out that Christine Riggle, and many LMS staff, formed a team to remember and support 2 LMS staff members that passed away from cancer recently. Here is Christine's reply to me; "Mrs. Kinzley was a special education teacher (7th graders) who dedicated her entire life to her students. She was the best advocate for them. She passed from breast cancer and left the entire staff shocked. Mrs. Gerard (Katie) was an 8th grade Science teacher. I have never known a teacher who could smile so much and keep not only the students, but the staff laughing. Her dedication to the students was unending and she passed from an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer that took her within 10 months. She passed right before Christmas last year and left a huge hole in our hearts. Thanks, Chris…"
I didn't know these teachers but I find it difficult to look at their pictures and know that they were pretty young when they lost their battle. I have copied their team page link from the ACS Relay for Life of Lakewood.
