Saturday night, the Lakewood Rangerettes (under 8) girls soccer team won the first game of their season by a score of 6-1.
The Westside Strikers, a select group of players from the western suburbs, failed to strike until the last minute of the game.

The Lakewood Rangerettes, one of a few all girls teams in the city, is looking for sponsors and donors to help defray costs.
The teams must rent space to practice in the Lakewood schools' gyms and it is costly. The cost of leagues and tournaments are also expensive.
The benefit to the girls' self-esteem and confidence is priceless.
Tax deductable donations can be sent to coach David Bartos, at his office at 20220 Center Ridge Road, Suite 320, Rocky River, OH 44116 (440)409-0300.
Thank you.
