City Sponsored Welcome to Lakewood Event to be Held Oct. 19

LAKEWOOD, OH — New to the city? Looking for an excuse to escape the confines of your house and see human faces for the first time in months? Your moment is almost upon you.

The Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission is sponsoring the annual Welcome to Lakewood event. The event is slated to take place at Garfield Middle School, 13114 Detroit Ave, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend — even residents who’ve lived in the city a while. The idea is to welcome new residents and assist anyone looking for additional opportunities to make connections within the community. Welcome to Lakewood provides a place where residents can learn more about local civic organizations, services and ways to get involved around town.

The event also provides residents an opportunity to meet various local city officials and representatives of the schools. As many as 50 local organizations will be on hand to provide information about how to get involved in the community. There will also be some locally baked goodies and some fresh coffee on the side. All those in attendance will also be provided with a packet of information about Lakewood.
