The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Lakewood.

Hello, neighbors. It's Wednesday in Lakewood and I'm back in your inbox with everything you need to know about what's happening in town.

First, today's weather:

Humid; a stray p.m. t-storm. High: 82 Low: 72.

Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. U.S. News and World Report ranked the Cleveland Clinic hospital network as one of the best health care systems in the United States. The annual ranking placed the clinic at No. 4 in the country and No. 1 in Ohio. It was also recognized as the best hospital for cardiology and heart surgery, a placement the health care system has held for 28 consecutive years. (cleveland.com)
  2. An unsealed 2019 federal indictment on charges of tax evasion from 2013 to 2016 against Nakhle "Mike" Nader was unsealed by the FBI yesterday. During that time, Nader owned Bank Street Wine on West 6th Street in Cleveland, about six miles from Lakewood, and two other liquor stores in the area. It is believed that Nader is currently living in Lebanon. (Cleveland Scene)
  3. For the next few days, Lakewood residents should prepare for rain. A chance of showers and thunderstorms are expected today with temperatures back into the lower 80s. A slight chance of more showers is predicted for Thursday with highs around 80 degrees. (Cleveland.com)
