Cocaine, Weed Found During Lakewood Arrests

Police weren't looking for the narcotics when they were executing a search warrant and handling a traffic stop. But they found the drugs.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Cocaine and marijuana were found during police incidents over the weekend in Lakewood.

Callers told police that the cook at a bar on Madison Avenue had a warrant for his arrest with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. Officers investigated the tip.

They found the 46-year-old cook at work. The caller was right, the cook did have warrants for his arrest, so he was taken into custody.

When he was arrested, police found a small amount of marijuana in his possession. The cook was ticketed and then released.

Later that weekend, police stopped a car because the listed owner had a suspended license. After talking to the two people inside the car, officers asked if they could search the driver and passenger. The passenger agreed to be searched.

Police found a small amount of cocaine on the 57-year-old riding in the car. They were arrested on a drug abuse charge, police told Patch.
