Coffee With A Cop In Lakewood Coming Feb. 9

LAKEWOOD, OH — The next Coffee with a Cop event will be Feb. 9 at Rising Star Coffee. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Rising Star is located at 13368 Madison Ave.

There is no agenda for these events. Attendees are able to talk about whatever they like with the participating officers.

Notably, the coffee isn't free. Officers will provide some tokens to give away to the folks who stop by and chat them up.

The city says that it hopes the event "will hopefully help to strengthen the relationship between residents and the police, and also help a business out in the process."

The Coffee with a Cop event is part of a broader, national movement to humanize neighborhood police and deepen the connection between officers and the people they protect.
