Cluster Homes To Be Built On Lake Avenue In Lakewood
The new units will be constructed at the former Marathon Gas Station site.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood City Council approved a rezoning of a property on Lake Avenue on Monday, clearing the way for cluster homes to be built at the former Marathon Gas Station on Lake Road.
"The project will transition the site from a non-conforming commercial use of a gas station and vehicle repair shop to a residential use, which is more in compliance with nearly every property on Lake Avenue," Bryce Sylvester, Lakewood's director of planning and development told Patch on Wednesday morning.
The homes are being built by WXZ Development, a Fairview Park-based company. WXZ has a history of construction throughout Northeast Ohio, with several properties in the University Circle area.

Sylvester said some of the cluster homes would have first floor master suites. He believes this will directly address the interest in creating more properties for an aging population of residents.
"WXZ has also committed to following a green certification building process which links up with our community's interest in building sustainable and energy efficient homes," Sylvester added.
