Construction Continues At Edwards Park
Officials hope the park will be ready to re-debut in spring 2020. Crews will install a new playground before the weather thaws.
LAKEWOOD, OH — Residents may have noticed construction continuing at Edwards Park on Detroit Avenue. Crews are replacing fencing in the area and are prepping to install a new playground for kids.
Joe Beno, the director of public works for Lakewood, said work on the Edwards Park baseball fields was completed in the spring. Now, crews are replacing parks. Last month, crews pulled the existing playground from the site and next month, crews will install a new playground.
The goal is to have the park ready for spring 2020, Beno told Patch.

Even with winter approaching, Beno said he's not worried. "We have all winter and the start of spring [to finish the project]," he said.
Edwards Park is located at 16800 Detroit Avenue.
