Construction Starts On Long Vacant Madison Ave. Site
Lakewood residents may have noticed work being done at 13425 Madison Ave. After years on the market, the property has been sold.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Orange construction cones and safety netting have been erected around 13425 Madison Ave., the site of the former Cuyahoga Companies building, and 13415 Madison, a partially demolished building. Both locations have been on the market for years, a city official said.
The sites have been purchased by George Anthony, the owner of United Reader Service (located across Madison from the construction area). Anthony will apparently make interior improvements to both buildings and then lease them out, according to Bryce Sylvester, planning and development director for Lakewood.
"We're very much looking forward to the improvements George has planned," Sylvester said in an email to Patch. (To stay up to date on these stories, subscribe to the Patch Lakewood newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)

Sylvester said he expects to be discussing the renovations with Anthony at the Architectural Board of Review within the next 3-6 months.
"You'll see major improvements to the storefront and interior at 13415 Madison," Sylvester said.
