Crossing Guards Needed In Lakewood

The part-time gig pays $13 an hour and requires about two hours of a work on school days.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Looking for a part-time job? The city is still hiring crossing guards for the upcoming school year. Crossing guards will work about two hours a day (an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon) and make $13 and hour.

To snag the job, applicants must be at least 18-years-old, have a high school diploma or GED, complete a physical exam (which includes a drug screening), and submit to a police background check. Crossing guards work in all types of weather, so applicants have to be willing to deal with rain, snow, and heat.

“This is an ideal part-time job for a parent with a child in school, someone who’s retired, or someone looking to make a little extra money,” said Lt. Roger Warner in a press release. (Subscribe to the Patch Lakewood newsletter for local news and updates.)
