Cuyahoga County Democrats Endorse Lakewood Candidates
Five politicians running for different offices in Lakewood have received their party's endorsement.

LAKEWOOD, OH - The Cuyahoga County Democrats have announced endorsements for five Lakewood politicians: Sam O'Leary, Jason Shachner, Lindsey Grdina, John Litten and Dan O'Malley.
O'Leary is looking to replace current Mayor Mike Summers, who will not seek reelection. O'Leary faces stiff competition from fellow councilperson Meghan George.
Grdina is running for the Ward 1 council seat, Shachner is running for the Ward 2 seat, Litten for Ward 3, and O'Malley for Ward 4. O'Malley is running unopposed, according to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Laura Rodriguez-Carbone is challenging Gardina in Ward 1. Brad Presutto is challenging Shachner in Ward 2, and Jeff Wise is challenging Litten in Ward 3.
The endorsement of the Cuyahoga County Democrats has not always equaled success for candidates in Lakewood. State Senator Nickie Antonio did not receive her party's endorsement but received significant support from her hometown during the 2018 election. Similarly, the county Democrats endorsed Tom Bullock over Michael Skindell, but Skindell won voter support.
