Dan O'Malley Will Be Unopposed In Lakewood Ward 4 Election
O'Malley thanked his family, friends and supporters and vowed to "not let you down."

LAKEWOOD, OH - Lakewood's government will look very different over the next few years, but Ward 4 will continue to be represented by councilman Daniel O'Malley.
Amidst turmoil at the mayoral level and in other wards, O'Malley will run unopposed in Ward 4. He was the only candidate to file to run for the Lakewood City Council seat by Wednesday's deadline.
O'Malley issued a statement on Thursday, thanking his supporters and vowing to continue working hard for his ward.

"I continue to be grateful to my fellow Ward 4 residents for the confidence they have placed in me to represent them on city council. While I am relieved and fortunate to not have opposition for re-election, I will not be taking my position for granted. I plan to continue going door-to-door and meeting with residents - as I have during my entire first term - to engage neighbors around the issues impacting our community.
"I want to thank my family, friends, neighbors, and others who have been so supportive as I've prepared for re-election. I will not let you down."
Lakewood voters will have sweeping decisions to make at the ballot box come November 5. Current Mayor Mike Summers will not seek reelection, and candidates have begun campaigning to replace him. There are also competitions in several Lakewood wards.
