WHY:
The Lakewood City School District is celebrating the dedication and opening of three new elementary schools – Grant, Lincoln and Roosevelt Elementaries. The construction of these new buildings is part of the final $100 million phase of the District’s Facilities Master Plan project, which will be complete when the newly rebuilt eastern wing of Lakewood High School opens in August 2017. When complete, all of the District’s 10 school buildings will have been either rebuilt or completely renovated in the last 10 years. The cost of the final phase was shared equally by the District and the State of Ohio through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission.
