Donate Clothes, Other Items To Lakewood School, Help Make Money

Roosevelt Elementary is hosting a Savers fundraiser. Donated items can be traded for cash that goes directly to helping the school.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Spring cleaning may be an ordeal, but it's a healthy one. De-cluttering a home or apartment opens up space for re-design and also creates a bundle of goods that can be donated to help good, local causes. One such cause is asking for the items you're thinking about throwing out this season.

Roosevelt Elementary students and parents are hosting a Savers drive, which collect both soft and hard goods for donation. Items that will be accepted during the drive include: clothes, bed sheets, shoes, dress accessories, electrical items, toys and games, kitchen items and various knick-knacks.

The fundraiser will be held April 14 in the school parking lot. Trucks will be waiting to receive donations from 12 p.m. to to 2 p.m.

The school district can then trade the collected items for cash. A 14 pound bag of soft goods (like clothes) can equal a $1,000 donation to Roosevelt Elementary. Obviously, the more goods that are donated to the school, the more money Roosevelt can raise.
