Off-Duty Policeman Shoots Intruder In Lakewood
A home invader was shot by an off-duty police officer in Lakewood. Listen to the 911 calls inside.

LAKEWOOD, OH - An off-duty police officer shot and wounded a man attempting to break into the officer's Lakewood home on April 12. Lakewood Police did not say what department the officer serves in.
The shooting occurred Wednesday morning. Police received a call at 6:51 a.m. from the off-duty officer saying he had shot a man that had broken into his home. The officer's neighbors, near Grace and Franklin, also called police to report the sound of gunfire.
Police say the suspect was a black male, approximately 6'0 tall and was wearing a black hat, jeans, and a black T-shirt. Officers later located a man with a gunshot wound in his shoulder at 1645 Clarence. The man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by Lakewood Fire.

Lakewood Police say the man at 1645 Clarence, with the gunshot wound, matched the description of the suspect.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and said they will identify the suspect once charges are filed.
