Edgewater Park To Appear On Labatt Cans

Limited edition Labatt cans will feature scenes from Northeast Ohio's summer destinations.

CLEVELAND, OH — Beer maker Labatt USA will release a limited edition series of cans featuring images from famous Ohio summer water destinations. Among the selected spots is an image of Edgewater Park, with Cleveland smiling in the horizon.

The cans are part of a partnership between Lake Erie Waterkeeper, an organization that works to keep the lake clean, and Labatt. The company is investing $10,000 in Lake Erie Waterkeeper efforts, and $100,000 with Waterkeeper groups throughout the Great Lakes.

“Not only is clean water required to make great beer, but it also means recreation on the water. By working to improve our water footprint, we’re also able to impact our communities to help ensure everyone can swim, boat and enjoy our local waterways throughout the summer,” said Lisa Texido, brand manager for the Labatt Family.

Other than Edgewater Park, Labatt is also putting Arch City, Put-in-Bay and Cuyahoga Valley National Park onto its limited edition cans. The cans will be sold at stores that regularly carry Labatt products, though some will now have signage talking about the partnership between the beer maker and Lake Erie Waterkeeper.

“Increasing public awareness of water stewardship is crucial to preserving, protecting and improving our watersheds” said Sandy Bihn, executive director for Lake Erie Waterkeeper and Lake Erie Foundation. “Partnering with Labatt USA is a terrific opportunity to connect with more people throughout the state of Ohio and keep our waters fishable, swimmable and drinkable.”
