Emerson Elementary Staffer On Leave For Incident With Student
Police records say a parent reported the incident to authorities.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A staffer at Emerson Elementary is on paid administrative leave after an alleged incident with a student. In an email to parents, new Lakewood Superintendent Michael Barnes said the district takes "concern regarding student safety extremely seriously."
What is known is this: there has been an allegation of misconduct leveled against an Emerson staffer for an incident that happened August 28. That staffer was "immediately" placed on administrative leave, according to Barnes' email. A parent of a student at Emerson reported the incident to Lakewood Police, according to records obtained by Patch.
When pressed for details on what happened at the school, a Lakewood Schools representative told Patch "the district will not be making any further comments while the allegation is under investigation."
