Frode Gjerstad has been playing avant-garde/free music since the early 1980s. He is highly regarded for his large groups and small-group trios which are seen as incubators for young musicians. Gjerstad is touring again with Paal Nilssen-Love, one of the most explosive drummers on the international scene.
