Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Celebration

Medieval Christians, on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, would share enormous feasts of food and drink; hence the day came to be called “Fat Tuesday” or Mardi Gras. The purpose was to feast on all that was not permitted to be eaten during Lent. In the spirit of feasting together, all persons – young and old – are invited to a pancake supper on Tuesday, March 8. Pancakes will be served from 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM. Keeping God’s Time – a program exploring how the church keeps time – will be held from 6:15 – 7:00; there will be section for children and a section for youth and adults. Child care will be available in the Nursery. Laura Jaissle will lead a closing worship experience at 7:00 and you will be on the road home by 7:30.
