Theater Ninjas presents "Telephone"

A labyrinth of language and humor, "Telephone" uses poetry and history to explore our connections to one another through the machines that facilitate those relationships. Director Jaime Bouvier affirms, “This will be one of those transformative and magical experiences that you will not want to miss.”

The action takes place in three seemingly disconnected parts. Thomas A. Watson and Alexander Graham Bell reluctantly revolutionize communication, Miss St, a patient of Carl Jung, struggles to free her true voice, and a kaleidoscope of lost voices call out to one another over the wires.

"Telephone" explores how our investment in communications technology (from telephones to television to the internet) has made our communities grow to the international level; while helping us alienate ourselves at the same time. Integration with technology is a crucial element of this production and furthers a hallmark of Theater Ninjas’ mission by playing with the boundaries between actor and audience. Audiences will be invited to record snippets of the script in audio and video prior to the show and see their contributions come to life in the third act.
