Activities at the Lakewood Public Library aren’t just for children — there are plenty of activities for adults, too.
Every Sunday, in the main auditorium, the Friends of the Lakewood Public Library are hosting Sunday with the Friends events.
The events range from lectures to Celtic music to Edgar Allen Poe.

“We have 11 Sundays with the Friends coming up, starting now through December,” said Leana Donofrio-Milovan, the library's adult and electronic services representative.
In the main auditorium, each Sunday, there will be lectures and music.

- SEPT. 18 Jim Gill & Cathy Miller – Gill, a singer who tells stories will be backed up by Cathy Miller and her Celtic fiddle.
- SEPT. 25 Vibrant Wind Dancers: Autumn Air – The Vibrant
Wind Dancers do so to Celtic, Spanish, folk and pop music. - OCT. 2 Crossen Combat Chronicles – Author Richard “Chip”
Heyl presents a lecture chronicling a brave Lakewoodite’s journey through the Second World War. - OCT. 9 The Dave Sterner Quintet – Saxaphonist, Dave Sterner, to perform his unique brand of jazz.
- OCT. 16 Robin Stone – This popular musician will perform music akin to popular instrumental rock of the 1990s.
- OCT. 23 An Edgar Allen Poe Spooktacular – Come see Edgar Allen Poe’s stories set to live, classical chamber music and read aloud by the performers of WordStage.
- OCT. 30 Joe DeJarnette Jazz Ensemble – This Lakewood jazz legend will perform right in time for Halloween.
“We’re actually really excited for the Joe DeJarnette ensemble,” Donofrio-Milovan said. “We actually have more programs going on than we ever have in the past.”
