Former Police Officer, Rocky River Resident Sentenced for Transporting MDMA, Marijuana

The former Linddale cop was sentenced to more than three years in prison for distributing the drugs.

CLEVELAND, OH - A former cop is going to serve more than 3 years in prison for transporting large amounts of MDMA and marijuana, law enforcement officials say. Jonida Alicka, 29, of Rocky River, was a part-time Linndale police officer.

Alicka was sentenced to 41 months in prison by US District Judge Dan Aaron Polster. Alicka has also been ordered to forfeit two firearms and cash that were seized during her arrest in 2016. Her sentencing comes after she was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute both MDMA and marijuana.

Court documents say that Alicka and her sister, Denise Alicka, sold the drugs between 2014 and 106. They had a few sources for obtaining the drugs.

They acquired the MDMA from Michigan dealers, Rinald Turhana and Leka Konini. However, the sisters were also able to get MDMA from Jonida's boyfriend, a Canadian. Court documents say Jonida would go to New York, pick up the drugs, and come back to Ohio. Then the sisters would distribute MDMA throughout the Buckeye State.

US Attorney Carole Rendon says Turhani was found guilty of drug charges and is serving nine years in prison. Konini and Denisa Alicka have been found guilty of charges and are awaiting sentencing.
