Get Ice Cream With Lakewood Cops On August 15

Meet the men and women that patrol your neighborhood during this free event.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Residents have a chance to get an ice cream cone while chatting with Lakewood police officers on August 15. The event, called "Cone with a Cop," is part of a national movement to familiarize residents and cops.

The Lakewood Cone with a Cop will be held at the McDonald's at 16407 Detroit Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Kids that attend the event can get a "ticket" for a free small ice cream cone, courtesy of McDonald's.

Throughout the year, Lakewood Police Department holds a variety of events focused on residents and police officers meeting in a non-pressurized environment. In other seasons, the department holds Coffee with a Cop events at different coffee houses throughout Lakewood. When the calendar turns to summer, ice cream replaces coffee.
