Why Go: After Glow is a Cleveland-based Genesis Tribute band who plays classic and recent Genesis songs complete with costumes. A group of talented musicians, After Glow brings high energy performances and a wide vocal range perfect for Genesis music, from the softer melodic songs to the powerful ones.

Why Go: WMS-3 is a smooth jazz and R&B band that features hot electric guitar, sax, keyboards and vocals.  The band also features Raccine Williams on electric violin.  WMS-3 plays originals and classics, both instrumental and with a vocalist.  Make sure to bring your dancin' shoes!

Why Go: From the Finger Lakes region of New York, DaProf-N-Starr will play The Root on Saturday, May 28, 8 p.m.

DaProf (Jess Youngquest) has played for over 40 years. He plays mandolin, guitar and harmonica. Nora Starr has been involved in the music business for over 15 years. She plays guitar, mandolin and assorted musical gadgets. Together they provide a variety of music for some foot stompin' fun.

4.  JAZZ YOU LIKE IT

Where/When: / Friday, May 27; 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Why Go: If you want to take it real easy, stop in at the Waterbury Coach House for a drink and some traditional jazz. This cozy little restaurant and lounge is a great place to hear a solid group jam on your favorite standards.      

5. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT        

Where/When: / Saturday, May 28^; 7 p.m.

Why Go: Bring the kids and get in touch with your inner child at Lakewood Public Library’s family movie night. This week they’ve got a classic - Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”
