Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Lakewood's H2O Youth Volunteer Program is seeking donations for its Jul. 23 Clothing Drive & Super Sale from 9 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Garfield Middle School. Donations will be accepted through Jul. 17 at recycling bins located at the three fire stations in Lakewood. "We're collecting any type of clothing — shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, winter gear, outerwear, coats, boots, hats — for any ages," said H2O coordinator Emmie Hutchison said. (cleveland.com)
  2. Plum Hill Creative Studio, a flexible space that allows creatives and entrepreneurs a place to conduct meetings, shoot photography, or record TikTok videos, will hold its grand opening on Thursday, Jun. 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Madison Avenue location in Lakewood. The business is the vision of owner Ashley Rector who saw the need for a collective space. "We're hoping it inspires you to create content," said Rocky River resident Rector. (cleveland.com)
  3. Residents of the Cleveland area woke up to a swarm of mayflies everywhere Monday morning. The insects were brought in by a cold front that pushed over Lake Erie which created strong north/northwest winds. The good news is that mayflies are a sign of a healthy lake. (Cleveland 19 News)
