Halloween 2017: Lakewood Trick-or-Treat Time

The city announced the official hours for the spookiest day of the year.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Halloween is just around the corner. Parents will want to make sure the costumes are ready for the kids and residents will need to stock up on candy to hand out. For its part, the city has announced the official trick-or-treat time for Lakewood.

Kids will be going door-to-door for candy Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the city said on its website. There will also be events leading up to Halloween to get residents in the spirit.

According to the city,

  • Trick-or-treaters should be extra careful after the sun sets. Parents escorting kids should carry a flashlight.
  • Residents are encouraged to remind kids to be careful crossing the street and walking up and down steps. Candy is exciting, but it shouldn't be so exciting someone get hurts.
  • Drivers will need to be especially watchful and safe Oct. 31. Be prepared to stop frequently and quickly while cruising through the city.

Get into the holiday spirit Oct. 21 at LakewoodAlive’s 10th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Downtown Lakewood.
