Her musical passion is in her face
Burning River Baroque, classical music, live performance, passion, facial expressions, histrionics, dramatic

When I first retired in Lakewood about 2 1/2 years ago from NYC I was a member of the NYC Press Corps and I was curious about what I could shoot (photograph) in this area. It was winter and the cathedrals in the Cleveland area had some classical music events. It was at one of these at Trinity Cathedral where I met Malina Rauschenfels and what caught my eye was her expressive facial expressions as she sang.
We became friends and I attended some events that she put on with her group "Burning River Baroque". When she asked me to shoot a live performance at Trinity Cathedral, I gladly accepted and threw in some headshots as well since they weren't happy with the ones someone else took. I knew I could do better since I'm a big believer as a photographer that we have to know our subjects and I knew exactly the "looks" she was good at presenting and voila, I caught the one you see here in the "Plain Dealer"
